We have a new major version of Tagtool ready for beta testing — and this one is a big one! Version 1.5.0 brings significant performance improvements across the board, and a much more reliable online multiplayer experience.

Performance
- Faster app startup, even when you have a lot of decks
- Deck loading is faster, especially for decks with many duplicated layers
- Duplicating and deleting groups is faster in large scenes
- Smoother animations and transformations
- Lower memory usage when working with duplicate images
- Faster layer selection, especially in large scenes
- 120 fps ProMotion support on iPad Pro
Online Multiplayer
- Improved large file transfers
- Sessions with 3+ participants are more stable
- Rejoining after leaving works reliably

User Interface
- Menu reorganized — “Graphics” renamed to “Canvas”, “Canvas Format” to “Resolution”, “Output Quality” to “Anti-Aliasing”
- New Output submenu — external display selection and streaming controls in one place
- Opacity slider accuracy improved with low values
- Improved visual quality, noticable with very transparent layers
- Tapping on wrapped clones now selects the original layer
- Background color now persists across app restarts
Stability
- Fixed crashes and memory leaks
This beta is currently available for iPad only. Mac and Windows versions will follow soon.
You can join the beta via Apple TestFlight — it’s free and takes just a minute to set up:
- On your iPad, open the App Store and install the TestFlight app (if you don’t have it already)
- Open this link on your iPad: Join the Tagtool beta - TestFlight - Apple
- Tap “Accept” to join the beta program
- Install Tagtool from within the TestFlight app
Once you’re in the beta program, TestFlight will notify you automatically whenever a new beta version is available.
